To answer
that question, I’m going to try and keep this short.
If you’ve requested my Special Research Report "Attracting the Affluent", in
addition to the great business information I'll
provide, I’ll also
give you more information about who I am and what I do
there. For now, I think it’s important that you know
you are dealing with someone who is 1) reputable, 2)
knowledgeable and 3) experienced.
My name
is Ron Purvis and I’m a Calgary, Alberta (Canada) based
Chartered Accountant who specializes in showing business
owners how to achieve greater profits and cash flow using
field tested measurable results business growth
strategies.
I’ve been
a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of
Alberta, in good standing, since 1992. And I’ve been a
successful consultant in theCalgary business community since
1997. For most of my career I was focused primarily on
financial reporting for public companies. I’m the guy
who wrote the financial statements and the complex note
disclosures attached to them.
When I
started in 1997 I quickly realized I had to learn how to
market my professional services. And out of
necessity, I started to research and learn about it to grow
my own practice. Through that research, I
stumbled onto something that David Ogilvy, one of the
greatest ad men of the 20th Century called
his “secret marketing weapon”.
I was
intrigued by Ogilvy’s “secret” so I set out to learn as much
as I could about it and realized it truly is one of the
greatest marketing tools any business owner could have in
their arsenal - unfortunately it's not really well known or
understood by most people. I won’t go into too
much detail here (see my
Special Research Report for more information) except to
say that it completely opened my eyes to a whole host of new
opportunities that exist in almost every business (including
professional
consulting).
However,
the point of the story is – I took that knowledge and used
it in my own business – in one notable instance –
starting from scratch working in an industry in which I had
no connections and no reputation and creating a six figure a
year revenue stream in less than 60
days. At
that point I was convinced I was onto
something and sought to become one of the most
knowledge marketing people I could be – with my finance and
accounting background as an important
foundation.
Needless
to say, I’ve been at this for awhile in one way or another,
using these concepts either for myself, marketing my own
professional services (and other related products) or
assisting others in a variety of different businesses
whenever I have had the time. Not long ago I decided to
focus on marketing consulting and business growth strategy
full time, moving away from the finance and reporting side
of business. That is why I created this site.
This is a portal for the information, ideas, and tools I
have used successfully and want to share with other business
owners and entrepreneurs who want greater profits and cash
flows in their business.

that’s the short form version of my “marketing story” and
why I do what I do. You
